Mercy Maricopa wins national awards for its innovative programs

Medicaid Health Plan Association recognizes Mercy Maricopa with two Best Practice awards from the Institute for Medicaid Innovation (IMI) at MHPA17, the association's annual conference.

Mercy Maricopa received the Most Innovative Best Practice and the Innovation in Behavioral Health awards for its work with Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) teams.

These teams provide wraparound services and support to individuals with an serious mental illness (SMI) determination and who are involved with the justice system -- arrested or incarcerated. Mercy Maricopa collaborates on this program with Community Bridges, Inc.

The FACT teams that support these individuals are multidisciplined and provide direct care to members, depending on their needs. These individuals include psychiatrics, primary care physicians and nurses, employement, housing and rehab specialists, and others who specilize in the justice system. The FACT team is available to its members 24/7 to help them build stability by staying in treatment and moving toward recovery.
